Go up to Provincia as a group and without organizing anything

A challenging route that will make you feel like you're leveling up.

trekking province01

This is the group version of the Cerro Provincia trek: a fixed date each month, a small group, and everything taken care of so you only have to worry about hiking. It's one of the most comprehensive treks near the city, long and with significant elevation gain, so it's best enjoyed when you're with someone who knows the route well.

We'll pick you up at a meeting point in Santiago, we'll climb together at a steady pace, and at the top, you'll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the capital city with the Andes Mountains in front of you. Many people arrive alone and come down with new friends. And if you prefer your own date or a private trip, we can arrange that for you too.

FAQ

  • 🥾 How difficult is it and do I need previous experience?

It's a challenging full-day trek: 2.738 m altitude, approximately 18 km, and 1.800 m elevation gain, taking about 10 hours to hike. There are no technical sections, but it requires good physical condition and some trekking experience due to the length and elevation gain. The guide adjusts the pace and manages the breaks.

  • 📍 Where is it located and where does the route begin?

Cerro Provincia is located in the San Carlos de Apoquindo area, in the Las Condes district of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, about 30 minutes from downtown Santiago. The route starts from there; we'll coordinate your entry at the starting point and pick you up at your accommodation.

  • 🧭 What is the route like and how long does it take?

Approximately 18 km round trip with 1.800 m of elevation gain, taking around 10 hours to hike. It's a long and sustained route that crosses sclerophyllous forest, rocky ridges, and open sections at high altitude, with cacti and birds of prey; at the summit, there's a solitary dome and panoramic views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. The descent is via the same route.

  • 📅 What is the best time to upload it?

Spring and autumn are ideal for weather and views. In summer, it's best to leave early due to the heat and sun exposure. In winter, there may be snow at higher elevations, and conditions change to mountainous terrain.

  • ⛰️ Is it possible to climb without a guide?

It's a long and demanding route, easy to underestimate due to its length and elevation gain. Going with a guide ensures a steady pace, hydration, and safety, and frees you from the logistics. That's why we offer it as a guided tour, either private or in a group.

  • 🎒 What should I bring?

    For this activity consider:

    - Backpack +20 liters
    - Trekking shoes
    - Comfortable clothes for hiking
    - Coat or windbreaker
    - Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
    - 3 liters of water minimum

We will confirm the equipment depending on weather conditions.

  • 🧍 Can I go alone, with children or pets?

You can also go with children if they have the appropriate equipment and are used to hiking, keeping in mind that it's a long and demanding route. Pets are not allowed, out of respect for the environment and other hikers.
