The Great Apu: The Mountain that Awakens Your Spirit

A demanding expedition to the most emblematic summit of the central Andes.

expedition lead santiago 04

Cerro El Plomo, at 5.424 meters, is visible from all over the city and represents one of the greatest challenges for beginners in high mountain climbing. Its history links it to the Incan legacy: it was an Apu, a sacred mountain, whose summit holds vestiges of an ancestral sanctuary and the offering of a child to the Sun God. The route crosses glaciers, moraines, and the shrine known as Pirca del Indio.

From Camp Federation, the final ascent is strategic and profound. It's not just about reaching the summit, but about sustaining your rhythm, your mind, and your purpose at high altitude. It's a journey that transforms, honors history, and leaves a personal mark at the top.
